One of the biggest issues with today’s generation is the usage of cell phones especially while driving a vehicle. Texting and driving accidents have been steadily increasing as technology has been evolving to newer and better things. People don’t realize there are huge consequences to texting and driving, which include; tickets that can cost up to $300, vehicle impoundment, and criminal charges. The expense of ticketing for texting and driving varies from state to state. The state of Iowa inhibits the use of cellphones while driving, but this ban has only worsened the problem since the number of crashes has been steadily increasing (“Iowa’s Texting-While-Driving Ban”). In the Unites States almost all states have banned texting and driving but only four do not enforce them as a primary offense, Iowa is one of those four; meaning that a police officer will not always arrest the person involved or appoint an instate fine (“Iowa’s Texting-While-Driving Band”).
