Community service is not as bad as some people make it out to be. I myself had an internal groan when I heard that community service was required and would be set as a grade. It was also helpful when applying to internships because you can use examples from your volunteer experience during your interview. For example, I was able to say in my interview that I can think on the spot because during my time at Riverfront the staff occasionally wouldn’t show up for programs so I would have to think of an art and craft as soon as I arrived. Next, the volunteer experience has made me a more well-rounded person and has helped me understand what population I enjoy working with. Everyone has a niche and through volunteering, you can learn what population you most connect with. Third, I have become more comfortable and open working with people with disabilities.…

Veterans are a group of people that write a blank check totaling their life to the government. They fight to defend our country and every American citizen. Then when their service is done they come home to be unnerved and underappreciated. Veterans are: mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, husbands, wives, and friends. The main thing we should do is make them known to others, so they know that we are there for them and let them know their service is more than appreciated, and we should let them know that and not let them be forgotten.…

I do not believe that all United Sates citizens should be required to to preform at least one year of community service by the time they are thirty years of age. Forcing someone to help when they aren't willing can do more damage than good. If the person does not want to help they shoulfnt be forced to do so. Volunterring comes from the heart of the person, if their heart is not it, it will not be benificial to the people receiving the help. Most people tend to volunteer at churches, food banks, schools and even in the fire department.…
