They are transported by the blood stream to into the body’s cells. If steroids go to muscle cells, they may promote muscle growth. If a steroid user participates in strenuous exercises, such as weight lifting, the steroids will increase the amount of protein sent to the muscle cells for the rebuilding process. However, if used without strenuous excises, they do not promote muscle growth in a healthy body. (source A)
I believe steroids are a substance very easily available and on the increase of use for aesthetic reasons and for the advantage within the sporting and competing world.
