Imagine Edward Jones, a young child, sitting on the couch, all day, everyday. Eddie will grow lonely and do the same thing everyday. Then, if he does meet a friend, he won’t know how to be nice and go right back down to sitting. Edward will have no choice but eventually become obese and not be physically fit. But, if the child plays sports after school, he will become physically fit, have better sportsmanship and his grades will improve their grades. Although sports can cause injury, concussions or make students have the desire to win at all costs, but, the benefits will give a child way more. Many schools are banning it though, and that is a huge mistake. It would improve your students. For some kids, sports are the only way to get into college. …show more content…
If a kid congratulates another kid on playing very well in a game, it will take class and will teach that child sportsmanship. But, if the child never played sports before, he could become jealous, and then get mad at the other person. Also, if a child behaves humble in a sporting event, it will bring respect to him from coaches, teammates and parents. Losing a game can increase the strategies and the perseverance of the child. When a kid loses, he will want to come back and want to beat the team next time he plays them which teaches good sportsmanship. Furthermore, sports in school can also improve children’s grades. After the sport season in one middle school, most of the players had their grades drop. This happened because they were already organized with sports and all the stuff they to be neat with, but when the season ended, they didn’t have to be organized or neat anymore. They then lost track of everything and then their grades dropped. Also, sports can help with body and brain development. When kids are active, their bodies can grow healthier and stronger. Although sports can cause a concussion or other injuries and the raging desire to win at all costs, the benefits will beat out the negatives by far. Some schools are starting to take away sports, but they making a huge mistake. Sports are very good for young children to learn many different things. Also, sports let kids have fun and also it also gives them something to look forward to after a long hard day. Obviously, sports should stay in school.
