From Apollo 11 to the Mars Pathfinder, space exploration has been a big event in the United States, as well as across the globe. Some would say that space companies have too much money given to them, which they believe is an issue. I believe the opposite. If space companies were given more financial aid, we would be much further than Mars right now. This has been an obstacle along with the issue of the competition here on earth between countries, and the hazardness of contamination.…
I don’t think space exploration will not ever regain the same or more public attention and interest as it did right after the “Era of Hope”. The reason why it’s because back then, traveling to the moon was more of a crazy idea rather than something it could happen. Technology was not as sophisticated, so the whole idea of an American stepping foot in the moon for the first time was outstanding, unbelievable. The fact that an American was the first man stepping foot in the moon gave great feeling of pride and honor to the whole country and motivated them to support and follow this event on big scale. Fast forward to the present, technology is so advanced that trips to the moon occur every here and there.…
One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind, says Neil Armstrong. I think that we a letting other countries get further ahead medically and technically. One journey makes us our most famous quote but if we keep exploring we will have plenty of those quotes. That is why he United States of America should be involved with major exploration of space and deep sea ocean.…
Imagine a future where more planets become habitable. Many people would take that chance and succeed a dream of being a part of a new civilization. But on the other hand, many people prefer to keep their feet on the ground with the help of Earth’s gravity. But is it worth the risk? Our reasons of staying on our home planet is the chance of no return from the planet Mars, the price to journey a one way trip, and the tight spaces with people you don’t know.…
Have you ever seen a movie something to do with asteroids? Well if you have, you may have noticed that the directors make the movies a little overdramatic. Half of the clips you see on a movie are all Hollywood, like for example they make the mission look so interesting like the astronauts are not bored any second of the day.…
One hundred thousand years ago, the largest species of ape called the Gigantopithecus roamed this planet. They thrived in the tropical forests of South China until climate change struck. The fruit eaters failed to adapt to the new dominant food sources of grass, roots, and leaves. Evidently, they soon went extinct because they refused to take a risk and change their diet. This extinction represents the consequence of not taking a risk, and if humans do not take risks today by exploring Mars, it could lead to the same unfortunate fate.…
I have tried to think of the beginning of spaceflight as a metaphor for brothers. The siblings argued over whose idea it was first. Two of the boys, Russia and the United States, decided that they would have a race to see who could get there first. Just like any challenge, the winner would get bragging rights for the rest of their life. After Russia got into orbit around the Earth first and technically won, the US decided that they should go again to see who could get farther, because getting into orbit was just an elementary achievement.…
Space Exploration What is every kids dream? A police officer, a doctor, and what else? An astronaut, every kid dreams about flying into space and seeing the stars. (fragment/generalization.)…
Homo sapiens dominate the Earth with our smarts and opposable thumbs, but we simply do not have enough room and resources for over 7 billion people, especially for those who do not contribute to the success of our race. The illiterate and poor civilians, of not only our country, but the world, are stealing the time and money from the educated that hinders their success in the world. To save the world from imminent failure, drastic measures must be made to eliminate the problem of ignorance. I propose that the government increases funding for NASA to create a space shuttle that can hold as many individuals as possible and that will have the ability to travel at least 225 million kilometers to our neighboring planet, Mars. (“What Is the Distance from Earth to Mars?” 2013.)…
We should go to Mars “The day we stop exploring is the day we commit ourselves to live in a stagnant world devoid of curiosity, empty of dreams.” — Neil deGrasse Tyson. The world has gotten too comfortable living in its bubble of safety. It’s time the world became curious and took the chance of exploring the unknown. Years and Years of debate after landing on the moon has raised this question: Should there be a manned spaceflight to Mars?…
Space Exploration Humans always had a nature of curiosity. That’s what drove Ferdinand Magellan and Juan Sebastián Elcano to circumnavigate the globe. They discovered new lands and crossed new oceans. If they weren’t allowed to go on the voyage, then our history would be too recent. Humans would still be exploring and naming lands in later centuries, if such an event were to happen.…
Stacey: Want to go to the Moon this weekend? I heard they are having some music festival there. Let’s take a trip to space! You: Which moon?…
Humans are destroying Earth and won’t stop because they don’t think about what they are doing. If the government does not do anything about their actions another solution might be to try to live on Mars. President Obama and President Trump have been supporting Nasa to be able to send people to Mars by the 2030’s. Astronauts have had many “trials” (living in a small space with other people for 6-12 months) around the world. Nasa thinks it will take about 6 months each way to Mars and the astronauts would have to live on Mars for about 2 years as they wait for the planets to realign for their trip home.…
Space exploration is the ongoing investigation of the environment beyond Earth's atmosphere. Mars is the fourth planet from the sun in our solar system that could possibly contain life. It contains many unknown things to discover and could overall greatly advance humanity. It is greatly debatable whether the United States should expand our space exploration to Mars for many reasons. The United States should not lead a mission to send humans to Mars since it would be too costly, take an exessive amount of time to carry out, and it would be overall too dangerous.…
Should Money be spent on Space Exploration? It would be advisable that more money should be invested into NASA for space exploration purposes. The reason why this would be a good idea is because with NASA focusing on Space exploration they would have to find ways to make stronger and faster rockets and more filling meals for long space flights. In this essay, I will examine what NASA has done for humanity as well as what their primary goal is, additionally I will examine why NASA should get more funding as well as the risks involved, risks that can be fix with more study and funding.…
