Mass Shootings The anti-gun crowd would like us to believe that with more guns, comes more gun violence, but since more and more states have allowed people to carry a side arm, crime has declined. Can these things be a mere coincidence? Perhaps, but even if that’s true, it still proves that allowing law abiding citizens to be armed does not increase crime, and suggest that it contributes to lowering it instead (Federal Bureau of Investigation, n.d.). Something else to ponder is where do mass shootings occur?…

Public shootings or mass public killings have been an epidemic that our society as a whole has had to deal with since the beginning of time. Throughout all these events one thing has often been the same, they had planned it beforehand before they executed the deed. People seem to think that banning guns will in turn solve the conflict that we face currently but that is a very ill conceived notion. The solution to this problem is to enforce stronger gun laws and regulations. For example they should put a limit on purchasing guns without a background check to look for any mental instability and a gun ownership license.…

This is causing schools to increase security and prepare for a potential war against unknown individuals. This has shown a negative effect on a significant amount of students who now see school as unsafe. Metal detectors, security cameras, and many other security safeguards have been a regular necessity for schools. By Federal law gaining legal access to a gun is a process simpler than a refinancing a family home in the United States. Our government states that under federal law a licensed gun dealer cannot sell any handguns and/or ammo to anyone that is under 21 and can’t sell long arms (Shot guns/ rifles) to anyone under the age of 18 but an unlicensed dealer cannot sell handguns to anyone under 18 and can sell long arms to anyone regardless of age. Everyday there are up to nine deaths under the age of 21 daily, leaving us with an issue that has been here for such a long time but has been continuously ignored and overlooked because most people go about finding solutions for guns in extreme ways.
