Persuasive Essay On School Shootings

School shootings are brutal. Children shot without reason. We obviously need to come up with a solution for these massacres. I propose that instead of hunkering down and becoming sitting ducks, we get more guns inside the schools. Our president, our sports teams, even our celebrities are protected with guns. We protect our schools with a sign banning guns, and if something goes wrong, we call someone with a gun. Let me clarify, we don’t protect them with guns, we protect them with qualified people that possess guns. Guns don’t kill people just like spoons don’t make people fat. The user is the problem, and a crazy user with a gun certainly has the power to slaughter hundreds of people without guns. I propose that we train teachers to carry handguns. They can keep them unloaded at all times, so that a student can’t grab it and start shooting. However, if an intruder comes in, there will be lots of faculty there to stop him in his tracks. …show more content…
It is no coincidence that these four cities have the strictest gun laws in the country, and in turn they have the most murders. Criminals don’t care if they are not allowed to have guns, and the law abiding gun owners follow the gun laws. You are left with armed criminals and only the police around to stop them. Schools have no weapons at all and look at how that is working. Obviously gun control does not work, and we can’t just leave the future of America in schools waiting to be

Concealed handguns in the schools would be kept in a secure area and teachers and administrators would have strict procedures in carrying the gun on school grounds. There would be more responsibility for the teachers and administrators, but in order to protect students teachers would welcome new regulations. The battle continues in state legislatures across the country.…

Texas, Nevada, Florida, those states are in our minds and hearts. Those states have had mass shootings in the past decade. But if our government had a stronger hold on guns and changed the laws, they would protect many lives. First of all, AR-15’s are unneeded for self defense and 25% of mass shootings have been done with this gun. The argument toward allowing guns on campus could be that allowing more guns on campus could create a possible mass-shootings because people have more access towards guns and bringing them on campus, but however because of this there could be students who have no want to cause a mass shooting instead they want to protect themselves, and other classmates from a possibly dangerous individual. When a shooter enter campus a “good people find themselves in what he calls “ the dark place”,confronted by the imminent terror of a gun-wielding homicidal maniac, the picture becomes clear”,a piece of paper,a sign that says gun free zone or a federal gun law won 't protect us from being murder instead the best protection is a “prepared and brave defender with the proper lifesaving tool-a gum”(Wheeler 619-620).A way to prevent the mass-shootings from increasing because of they allow guns on campus would be to install programs that show who is carrying a gun,if they legally purchased it,do they have a history of violence?,should they carry a gun because of their criminal record even if it may not be a violent and if not then they will not be allowed to carry one legally on campus. This protocol would be used to make sure that we don 't have the wrong people carry guns because those people may be the ones to attack the school,so instead we allow a majority of the guns to carried by the good students as well as the professors. Even with these protocols, we cannot completely end…

Recently, shootings have been a great stir of debate among the nation, without a clear consensus on an universal resolution that will satisfy everyone. Many feel we should have greater gun regulation while others believe that we should arm more people to have defense against supposed attackers. What I propose is that we take guns away from everyone, except our militia, as to guarantee safety amongst the citizens, and therefore our militia will only have to worry about foreign attackers or rogue agents. Around the world, there has been an unusual increase of domestic terrorism, with governments vowing to find solutions, but those mostly being empty promises as they are unsure themselves on what to do. In our government, two large opposing forces…

Making our school safer According to Justin Carissimo “There have been 142 school shootings in the US since the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012, a near average of one a week, according to data compiled by Mass Shooting Tracker.” According to Everytown a site for Gun Safety “there have been at least 94 gun-related deaths and more than 156 people injured”. This needs to stop and there is a solution. The solution would be to arm our teachers with guns and give them training on what to do in a shooter scenario. The teachers will not just be handed a gun and told “shoot the bad guy” the teacher will have to attend trainings consistently and will be trained in tactics.…
