Same sex marriage. Let me start off by asking you guys on what your idea of Same-Sex marriage is? Same-Sex Marriage is when I man or woman wish to proceed in the sacrament in marriage with the same gender as themselves. If I were to ask you guys how many people in this room believe that the church hates gay, how many would state yes? Account the endless amount of hands in the room states that people in society have the wrong prospective on the church and there teachings about Same-Sex Marriage. In this presentation I am going to cover topics like the churches teaches towards same-sex couples, the right and wrong way to go about this in the church, some advice I have to you and also a real life story. “There has been a dramatic shift in recent years in Americans’ attitudes about gay marriage, with support for same-sex marriage rising from 37% in 2009 to 57% in May 2015”(Masci). I as a faithful Christian believe that in a way by the number rising that it I s a good thing. People are learning how to except people for who they are and what they believe in other then always putting them down. The Church does not focus on statistics because the bible will never change, you know. “251,695 -- Same-sex married couples in the United States in 2013” (Roberts). I believe that if the people in the 251,695 are not all catholic then it is their right to practice any belief they may choose, if they are catholic they should have taken an alternative route, like celibacy. Just to touch base with you ladies and gentlemen, what is the definition of celibacy? Would anyone like to elaborate on this? Celibacy is the state of abstaining from marriage and sexual relations. Although for many men and women this will be hard I think it is a mandatory thing when it comes to breaking the laws of the Church and certainly the Laws of
