Racism is the ideology that humans are divided into separate entities called “races”. In 1933, Hitler came to power in Germany and made it his mission to persecute and wipe-out the entire Jewish race. In 1619, a Dutch ship brought 20 slaves to Jamestown Virginia. This started racism in America when we started slavery. Those who practice racism believe that the lower status races deserve lower status jobs and that members of the “superior” race should get more pay and higher ranking jobs. This, however, makes absolutely no sense, because some people of the so-called “superior” race have no business being in high ranking jobs. Wrong. Racism still exists today. Hate crimes are still going on and people are still getting denied because of the color of their skin. If African Americans can get shot for shoplifting, and white people can get restrained using special training for shooting up a school, that's a problem.
