Persuasive Essay On Public Shootings

Public shootings or mass public killings have been an epidemic that our society as a whole has had to deal with since the beginning of time. Throughout all these events one thing has often been the same, they had planned it beforehand before they executed the deed. People seem to think that banning guns will in turn solve the conflict that we face currently but that is a very ill conceived notion. The solution to this problem is to enforce stronger gun laws and regulations. For example they should put a limit on purchasing guns without a background check to look for any mental instability and a gun ownership license. If people wanted to go in the direction of limiting guns and strengthening gun laws then that would be a good compromise between the two sides. When an aspiring mass murderer cannot get their hands on a gun or weapon they usually obtain it by an outside source be it illegal trade, black market, etc. People no matter how powerful are never going to be able to stop the illegal exchange of anything be it weapons to drugs or whatever. This is a counter to the solution of harsher gun regulations because there is no way to regulate something that is not allowed in the first place. Just like the people who believe in the banning of firearms in the states, that strategy simply cannot solve each area of conflict. What can be done however is the cracking down on illegal firearm trade, which is infinitely easier said than done, but it will probably not completely solve the issue. Realistically if the public and elected officials do not help solve the problem that is gun violence then there really cannot be a complete solution to this elusive problem.
