Gay marriage has problems with being accepted in today's society. Even though it is legal for gays to get married, people still do not accept it. When people think of marriage they normally think of one man and one woman. But in some cases it is two men or two women getting married together. Religious families believe that gays will go to hell and straight people will go to heaven. People should not judge others because of their sexual orientation. Gay marriage should be more accepted.
After many years of not being able to marry someone of the same-sex, a law was finally passed. On June 26, 2015, the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex couples have the right to marry anywhere in the U.S.(“At Issue: Same-Sex Marriage.”) Now that this law is passed people in the gay community can get married in almost any church, that will allow it. Mr. Obama acknowledged the range of views on same-sex marriage, and that “opposition in some cases has been based on sincerely held beliefs.” ( "Gay Marriage a Done Deal As Political Issue? No So Fast.") If people will just look around, they will notice that they know a lot more people in the LGBT community than they are willing to admit. Their are gay people in movies and TV shows.
