When you think of a pit-bull, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Most people see Pit bulls as a vicious animal used only to cause harm. They think of large intimidating dogs that can attack within a moment’s notice. Pit bulls can be very protective animals. They are very loving and very passionate animals. For example; I own a full-blooded pink nosed pit bull, her name is Dumplin because she is Plain white like a raw biscuit. I also own three other pit bulls mixed with Lab and German Shepard. They are all very loving to other dogs. Whenever friends and relatives come over, all of the dogs go to the door and wag their tails, because they think that everyone that comes over is there to see them. When you are sitting down on the couch, …show more content…
I really do not see why people downgrade on pit bulls just because how big they are, how big they can get, and how mean they look. Most Pit bulls are short and bulky. But what they do not know is that looks can be deceiving. So, why judge a dog just by its looks or its aggressiveness. Dogs are like humans; they have feelings just like we do. So, why discriminate? It does not matter if it’s a human or an animal, that my friend is discrimination. How would you like it if you were an animal and someone judged you by your looks and your aggressiveness? You probably would not like it one bit. For those who don't know who Michael Vick is, he is an NFL (Nation Football League) Quarterback. Michael was tangled in dog fight; the dogs that he and his associates used for the fights were pit bulls. They placed bets to see which dog would win. But they tested them to see if a male or female pit-bull was doing poorly, if the dog did poorly then they would shoot, drown them in a bucket of water, beat them until their neck or back was broke and left them there to die. Like come on, really? Who in the world would do that to any type of animal? I know, someone who was bored with their and wanted to see something …show more content…
The real estate lady asked "If I have any dogs?" Of course, I said "yes." She wanted know to know what kind of dogs that I had? I told her that " I have one full-blooded pit-bull and the other three are pit bulls mixed with Lab and German Shepard. She said that I could NOT have my dogs on the property. That's not right. To me that is disrespectful to tell someone that they can't have their dogs on the property just because they are pit bulls. That makes me sick to know that, I have to find a new home for them or keep them at a relative’s house where I won’t be around them every single day like I am now. I mean they are my kids and I will fight for them. I’m not giving up on

Pitbulls are beautiful in their variety, but their most appealing features are their inner qualities. Strength, confidence, a sense of humor and a zest for life are all hallmarks of the breed. They also tend to be sensitive and get their feelings hurt easily (“Reflecting on Pit Bulls - Whatever they are!”. Badrap.org.). Pit bulls, just like any other dog, want a caring family and a joyous home. Some individuals may argue that pit bulls should not be allowed to be kept as pets due to a few of the vicious crimes they have committed in the past, however, the entire pit bull breed should not be punished for the act of a few of their counterparts. Pit bulls, as long as they have a positive home environment, the proper social interaction, and get plenty of exercise are no more dangerous than any other dog and should be allowed to be kept as pets. Pit bulls, in order for them to behave well, need an owner that will work with them and give them a proper environment. While recently looking up Canadian laws, Animal Rights popped up and seemed very intriguing. From thereon, the Dog Owners Liability Act surfaced and it states “The owner of a dog is liable for damages resulting from a bite or attack by the dog on another person or domestic animal.” This law does make sense that the owner should take the responsibility of their dog because they were the ones who raised the dog to be the way it is but the one sub issue found with this law is the Pit Bull Ban. The total ban on the Pit Bull breed in Ontario is unacceptable because the government shouldn’t be targeting just the one breed because of the actions of several individual dogs, Pit Bulls shouldn’t be treated differently from other breeds, and if the government is already banning a whole breed, what is going to stop them from banning a bunch of other breeds that have the same attack numbers. Throughout this essay, it will be proven that the total ban of Pit Bulls is ridiculous and the law should be revoked.…

The Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LSPCA) killed the pit bulls by lethal injection. Nineteen of the pit bulls were puppies (Dayan). This is a prime example of the misunderstanding and intolerance of this breed. Pit bulls should not be singled out as violent animals and should not have to be restrained based only on their breed. More importantly, all pit bulls should not be banned just because of their breed.…

Banning Pit Bulls Doesn’t Solve the Problem Pit bulls are vicious animals and should not be pets, but let’s look at what they were really bred for. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, (ASPCA) Pitbull’s were bred for bull-baiting and bear-baiting. They were bred to hold these large animals by the face in the United Kingdom. When this had become illegal in the late 1800s, people decided a new fate for these companions, which was fighting.…
