Persuasive Essay On Pet Drive

Pet Drive You’ve heard commercials about animal shelters are non-profit organizations and usually are ran on small budget from the city along with donations from the public. Animal shelters need help with supplies to take care of animals, provide a warm and comfortable environment before the pets are adopted. In order to help out the animal shelter I’ve planned to do a pet drive to gather resources for this upcoming holiday season. The amazing goal for this operation is to provide the animals with full bellies and plenty of toys to play with. Also to provide a good feeling to the people who help out the shelter. This also provides the animal shelter the ability to save money and try to finish other projects that may have been halted due to …show more content…
I have sent out more flyers with the updated end time which is December 21st. I hope this will allow my neighbors to be able to get out and hopefully think about the flyer and bring more goods. If I was to end it right now I would honestly be disappointed in the outcome and how poorly my street performed. I guess it’s alright to say I may have set to high of a goal. Hopefully though they will meet the goal by the time I officially end the pet drive. In the end I would say that if I was to do this again I think I need to plan the timing a little better. Get the school involved earlier and push for my street to step up. Possibly even expand how many streets I cover so I can have a better opportunity to get donations. This may not have gone as I have planned and who knows how my street will help me these next couple of days before I completely finish the pet drive. However, I do know that I learned from this and that it’s not always so easy to make a community project happen without extensive planning or good connections that will for sure help you. I may not be able to help every pet in the animal shelter but I can say that no matter what I know I will have helped at least a few pets go to bed with full tummies and have some toys to play with while they wait on a special family to come adopt

My group, consisting of Deja Calvin, Jasmine Begley, Raphael Genato, Marina Thacker, Courtney Carr, Ralph Tamakloe, and Glory Chuma, plans to organize a clothes drive through the school. The clothes we collect will go to a homeless shelter for use during the winter months. The purpose of the drive is to directly help the homeless population in Virginia Beach when help is most needed. Before the idea was formed, I knew that Goodwill takes donations for the less fortunate. Also, in our school National Honor Society has a can food drive early in the school year, and NJROTC holds a toy drive near Christmas.…

During the summer months we have an influx of visitors from the Tucson and Phoenix Metropolitan areas. Our organization strives to provide services to all of the homeless animals in our region. Our Humane Society shelters about 1,500 animals each year. Many of these animals are rescued from the surrounding forest areas, the Apache reservation, the streets, and from the careless people who neglect and abuse their animals. Our efforts help save them from their struggle with starvation, neglect, abuse, and abandonment.…

At this month’s project, the Key Club members helped at their weekly pet adoptions at the Maui Mall. They helped set up cages and put up signs in the morning. Throughout the day, Key Clubbers took care of the dogs; they walked them around, kept them hydrated, and helped them interact with many other people. When the event was finished, the members–along with other HARF volunteers–assisted with cleaning up the cages and taking the signs down.…

I have rehabilitated dogs that were so frightened, they would lose control of their bodily functions, bite and squeal with any human touch. It takes time, patience and lots of love to try to teach…

For our civic engagement project for the Redefining Leadership class, my group, Stephanie, Hailee, Christina, and I, decided to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in New Haven, Connecticut on a Thursday. Before we got there, we did not know what to expect, but afterwards, we truly felt grateful that we helped out a great cause. The Ronald McDonald House is a charity house that keeps families close to their family members that are being treated at a nearby hospital. We spoke with someone who works at the House and she told us that eight families were there on that day. We were able to see some people and did what we could to help out.…
