Concussion awareness is so important when it comes to not having a really safe helmet it could be the one thing keeping you safe from a concussion. Making sure you are wearing good and safe helmet is so crucial, it could be the determining factor between having a concussion or just a small bump. When it comes to actually finding a good helmet don't just trust a helmet if it´s a well known brand. You might think this doesn't make much sense, people usually assume that if a brand is well known or more expensive you will get more for your money. We had to work together to make a sturdy helmet to keep a person's head (two water balloons in a bag with jello) free from a concussion. Our helmets we made were put through a series of tests each time the helmet was dropped from a new height or thrown from a new length. when it came time to actually execute the helmets we learned how important a helmet can be in the process of keeping your head safe, and how getting a helmet in the wrong size or for a different sport could possibly lead to a fatal moment. When it comes to helping people in the community and the school have a better understanding of helmet safety this class project could be another way of involving the parents and students into the lessons of helmet safety. We obviously would not do it the exact same way we did it in class, but if an adult or a few students made a video or did a live performance of themselfs testing the students helmens or different types and brands of helmets from stores. as to better help everyone understand the difference in the amount of safety of your helmet is providing
