Financially excluded people who are turned away by traditional credit lenders often feel that they have little choice but to turn to pay day lending when in desperate need of money. Pay day loans will continue to cause harm to these vulnerable members of society unless current regulation is increased to protect them, and alternate methods of credit are introduced to fill the gap in the market that pay day lending currently exploits. Legislation is needed to stop consumers spiralling in to un payable debt by prohibiting borrowers from receiving multiple loans. However legislation is not enough without education and an alternate service consumers can turn to. The government needs to implement alternative credit providers that can help financially
