I have experienced organ donation firsthand, because my brother died training to be a Navy Seal and just as he was an Eagle Scout, and their motto was, “Do a Good Turn Daily”, he gave of himself freely by becoming an organ donor. The day after my brother died he saved about four lives, including a double lung transplant to a former Vietnam hospital corpsman, and he enhanced up to forty others since then through bone and tissue donations. We found peace in my brother’s death because he became an organ donor and selflessly gave of himself. My brother’s story has affected many people through his selfless act, and has inspired them to become organ donors so that they may help others once they die. The family members of the recipients and organ donors are also affected because they see firsthand what one person can do to help save someone’s life and to be able to live with their loved ones longer, while the organ donor family learns that their loved one lives on in others and was able to make someone smile again.

In any situation the doctor or surgeon will use anybody’s organ or tissue to save someone’s life no matter what
