Opening a time capsule is special. It is like writing a note to your future self and then after many years opening it to see if you've accomplished what you've always wanted to in life. Just the feeling of comparing your time to an even younger generation and seeing how much has changed over the years or if time has changed at all. That's why I chose the three most personal items that I own to be placed in my time capsule, they are my song book, my twenty sixteen graduation class photo and my little blue dolphin that’s always on my bag. When I was younger I had a hard time expressing how I felt and what I felt so one day my mother told me to sit and write it, ever since then those words became something more meaningful. Songwriting is how I express myself seeing as though music has been a huge influence in my life throughout the years. Hopefully by placing my songbook in the capsule people can connect with me on an emotional level and can use this method as a way to cope and express their feelings in a non-violent or non-verbal …show more content…
I chose this item because of the story behind it. When I was about seven or eight years old I meet a woman, a guest that was visiting the country at my mother’s workplace. She gave me the dolphin as a gift and told me to stay humble and keep smiling no matter what life throws at you. A few years after that my mother informed me that she had passed away from cancer, but I still kept the dolphin because it was a reminder of how brave and carefree she was even when she was fighting this illness. I always place the dolphin on a bags I even names it Milli. I chose this item because I wanted to show the capsule viewers that even the smallest of item can have the biggest of impact, I walk with Milli the Dolphin everyday as a little reminder that when life gets tough don’t just give up on but to make the most out of it.
