Nuclear energy: The main source of power for us today. Using nuclear fission, mass amounts of energy can be produced in nuclear reactors. Though an impressive invention, there are many dangers that come up with it. Radiation poisoning, cancer, death, and many more are what anyone could end up with if these reactors were to break down. Reactors are also very expensive to maintain, having to find ways to dispose of nuclear waste which ruined the expectations of “providing power for pennies a day.” Bad as it sounds, nuclear energy production has provided many benefits and steps are being taken to make nuclear reactors safer.
