In general, there is a way to improve student achievement by encouraging a growth mind-set, and intellectual praise. In this scientific exposition specified as “Raising Smart Kids,” written by Dweck. Dweck mentions “They understood that even geniuses have to work hard for their great accomplishments” (23). The process of developing a growth mind-set should be a priority because all geniuses start off as a person with no knowledge about life, but they work hard to stimulate their learning to become an influential figure or a role model. Another point Dweck comes across is “ We found that intelligence praise encouraged a fixed mind-set more often that did pats on the back for effort” (25). In reality, students can be discouraged by teachers because many teachers don’t acknowledge every student’s effort. As a result, the fact of an intelligence praise creates student’s confidence level to raise, and they might be more persistent in the future. In conclusion, these actions should be the important change at Anaheim Schools for the good of each student’s bright future. Hopefully, most students would be able to combat their negativity of everyday struggles.
