Lowering the drinking age makes a lot of sense if you think about it. If we did lower the drinking age it would have multiple benefits. Lowering the drinking age would not have hardly any bad effects on our country if we ended up doing it. The drinking age should be lowered from 21 because if you are allowed to fight for your country, you should be able to drink, if we don’t allow young people (specifically eighteen to twenty year olds) drink in licensed locations, they drink illegally, and police don’t even enforce the law as much as they do other laws.

We already know that there are teenagers out there that drink unsupervised or illegally. Whether it’s drinking their parent’s alcoholic beverage or just buying their own with a fake I.D. “... causes them to drink in other unsupervised places such as fraternity houses or house parties” (https://drinkingage.procon.org/ Pro 2). This means that even if we don’t allow older teens to drink, they are going to find out a way to do it behind our backs. To prevent this we should lower the drinking age to eighteen where teenagers don’t feel the need to drink
