Persuasive Essay On Littering

Although littering in public has become a norm in today's society posting things like this only invokes a lynch mob mentality which could lead to events far worse than throwing garbage out of a car. I agree with the opinions that it should not happen, what I don't agree with is turning point of these videos where it went from a person littering to a public hanging with all of the town invited. Airing her (the mother if it is the mother or aunt or friend or sisters) dirty laundry (animal cruelty) which she has been charged with but not convicted is a ludicrous attempt to prod the public into a state in which very bad things could happen to these people. Do they deserve to be terrorized, beaten, bullied physically harmed because they litter? If you think yes to this it would state that you have never, not once littered anywhere in your entire life OR you …show more content…
If the daughter is not taught to respect the environment by the mother does she deserve to be shunned by a community of citizens who obviously by the posts have never done anything wrong that is even remotely comparable to littering in a public space? What if the daughter has mental issues she deals with such as ADHD or severe depression? This public mentality could turn from good samaritan standing his ground on littering in public to an investigation into why a young girl commutes suicide because she could not handle the taunts of a society so bent on revenge without thinking about the possible outcome of these events. The human approach to this situation would have been get the license plate number, video tape if needed and give it to the police or bylaw official to take care of. In my observation the gentleman who took the video had good intention at first but as time went on it was more about likes, posts, re-posts and shared. Than the actual issue at hand. Do insensitive and litterers need calling out? Yes. Does that mean any subsequent anger is okay to descend into bullying and lynch mob

At the ends of each semester college kids are packing up to return for the holidays. They’ll pack their clothes, throw out old assignments they never turned in, and look through their food to see what needs to go. In ‘Dumpster Diving’ by Lars Eighner he talked about how college kids are throwing out food, giving it an unfair characterization. Due to recent events, one idea has come to the fore: With radical Muslims killing our troops everywhere they can find them, it is clear we need a stronger force. It is true that we can utilize one of the many powerful weapons in our arsenal, such as the nuclear bomb, yet the civilian and biological affects of this are not worth it. It is clear; we should increase the size of our infantry. And it is fortunate we have this surplus of people lying around, literally. Experts tell us that tourists who see these homeless people lying around our cities find the to be demoralizing and therefore reduce the amount they spend.…
