Although the use of marijuana is illegal in the majority of states in the United States, countless people currently consume marijuana. The government could create certain laws that help control the nation with the use of marijuana. “In the United States marijuana is currently decriminalized in eighteen states, medical marijuana is legalized in twenty-three states and recreational marijuana is legalized in the states of Alaska, Oregon, the District of Columbia, Colorado and Washington.” (Bushan 191). The decriminalization of marijuana in eighteen states is a great case where the use of marijuana is legal with many circumstances.
