Persuasive Essay On Legalizing Marijuana

Should we legalize marijuana? The answer in my opinion would be no. The reason for this is that marijuana has more negatives aspects than positives in my eyes. I can sum up those negatives aspects in these three things; the use of it, the side effects, and my own thoughts on it. There are a lot of uses for marijuana like for social anxiety. Sure, marijuana can help relieve stress in your daily life but there other ways of relieving stress like writing an angry letter, squeezing a stress ball and more, another use of marijuana is to feel good. One of these effects being similar to tobacco, in that it causes respiratory symptoms like coughing, wheezing, and sputum production. Another effect would be change in perception. That means while you’re smoking this stuff you could be seeing something else entirely from what you’re used to. One more effect being impaired motor skills which is dangerous because while you’re smoking marijuana you could crash into someone because you were on the effects of marijuana when you were driving. Now, on to my overall thoughts on marijuana. Marijuana to me is like other drugs, but not as addictive as the other drugs. In opinion, smoking marijuana just seems like a way to cope negative emotions that people keep deep down inside. My view on marijuana is influenced by the fact when I see someone smoke this stuff, they get arrested by the police or face some jail time. Another for my dislike of marijuana would that if I tried it I become slowly addicted to it because it helps relieve stress which is something I deal with in my daily life, also it could affect my health in the long
