Marijuana has been a widely discussed topic over the past few years and should be legalized. Most believe that this is just a drug that has negative effects however recent research has shown that this is not the case. Marijuana has many uses that can be prove to be beneficial to people in the long run. Marijuana should be legalized because it has medical effects, it is less harmful than alcohol or tobacco, and it is a growing industry that can be used to accumulate money for the government.

The industry raises more money than many other industries and shows promise of growing in the future. If marijuana were to be legal everywhere the industry would grow substantially. This would result in more users and more easily accessible marijuana. Legalization would result in more users because it would be more accessible, current users would purchase more because of more supply, and the rise of products to make the intake of marijuana easier. These would all result in more money in the industry which could be potentially applied to research done on cancer or anything else. The possibilities are endless for the money that the industry raises and this legalization would help the industry grow more than it already is. This accessibility could also stir the concern of parents of the possibility of their child taking on smoking marijuana and getting in trouble for it.
