Marijuana has been legalized in parts of the country such as Colorado and Washington. This has created an uproar all around the country, some citizens’ demand for the legalization of marijuana to spread nationwide; meanwhile others demand for a termination of marijuana usage. Despite the differing ideas about legalization or eradication of marijuana, many do not think about what would happen if marijuana was legalized for recreational purposes. Ambiguity still exists within the few states that have legalized the substance, in terms of monitoring the usage. The FDA also known as The Federal Drug Administration should monitor the amount of THC that marijuana contains per gram. THC is the chemical in Marijuana that creates an exertion of dopamine in the brain creating a state of euphoria. By measuring the levels of THC the government will be able to measure the intensity that a gram might have on a person. Measuring the THC level is very similar to the way that we measure alcohol volume. There are many things to adopt from the way that we oversee alcohol and tobacco that might apply to the monitoring of marijuana. For example just like the general surgeon warning in alcohol and tobacco products, marijuana should also have a warning. This is going to be a way to inform consumers about the risks that might put themselves through, if consuming the substance. Age is another important factor that affects health. It has been proven that a human's frontal cortex; which is in charge of decision making, does not develop until the age of twenty-one. For that reason only people twenty-one and older should be allowed to consume
