In the Kinder ad there is present tension over certain issues that affect the country's view inciting many to question the decision over the kinder eggs banishments. The kinder ad's main focus is the comparison between a kinder egg – a chocolate egg with a toy inside – and gun control issue; which leads to the underlined focus of the danger that it can cause children. The kinder egg ad demonstrates that many Americans value the lives of their children; however they would rather banish a simple egg rather than assault rifles – which are viewed as having logic reasoning behind keeping them – the …show more content…
Then above the children there is a controversial question asking "One child is holding something that's banned in America to protect them. Guess which one?” inciting opinions in people. The organization sponsoring the ad is presented in the bottom right corner as "Mom Demand Action". The setting of the ad is in a classroom that creates the field of a harmless learning environment; however due to recent circumstances they have come to be seen as a dangerous place. The most probable place the ad could be found in is online journals and news websites, mainly appeal to people with children or have any small child around. Analyze McGinn’s moral argument and how it does or does not apply to the public policy issue of children’s advertising described in Consuming Kids. After reading McGinn’s moral argument about mindfucking, one can conclude that this concept does apply to the public policy issue of children’s advertising. Consuming kids is about how advertising targets children to make them believe that they need whatever it is being advertised. Mindfucking is a type of abuse that plays on people’s emotional sensitivities. For example: a commercial that has a bunch of kids playing with the new iPod touch…

Being smaller, fainter, and near the bottom of the ad, it is actually more of an afterthought. It is a confirmation that yes, the baby in the photo represents a fetus consuming second-hand smoke. The photo I chose to analyze is simple. There are no faces to express emotion, and no colors but black and white. The character in the advertisement is not even a real person.…

The eye then travels to two images, scrambled and fried eggs, to show Eggland's Best eggs look just like “ordinary eggs”. From there, our eyes view a happy family consuming the eggs, telling us our husbands and children will not only eat the eggs but also enjoy them, and finally a smiling wife/mother, implying we will feel proud of ourselves. This narrative manipulatively preys on our "mommy guilt" by promising we will be "good" mothers by purchasing Eggland's Best eggs. Above the storyboard collage, the advertisement draws readers in with a “hook” or attention grabber located at the top of the page: “Hungry for the best in taste in nutrition?” As with most hooks, readers feel compelled to answer, but knowing mothers are overworked and busy, Eggland’s Best takes over the hard work by giving us the answer in the very center of the page: “It’s so EB”, punning the traditional answer of “It’s so EASY”.…

One of the most controversial topics today is gun control, and this ad serves to stir up that controversy and get people talking. The image depicts two children sitting in a bleak school library. One is holding a children's fairytale book, Little Red Riding Hood, while the other is holding an assault weapon. Both children have unhappy faces. The lighting is dim, and the coloring is abnormal.…

Dare to be Different? This ad for the Guess perfume “Dare” features three slim models against what seems to be a sunny beach or tropical background. “Designer Babies” is a layman’s term used to describe what is known in the medical field as genetically engineered of human gametes, zygotes and embryos also known as germ line modification, (Wikipedia). There are countless problems surrounding designer babies, an example being a gene does not code just for one function, thus a gene medication can be used to solve a problem while it causes another problem involuntarily, (world press 2013, April 28). People have questions about this process such as; is designing a baby ethical? Then there are problems attached to this process that give rise to questions that are impossible to answer, such as; If the process were made acceptable and ethical by members of society and would the parent be modifying only for medical purposes or in hopes to have the most “perfect baby”, (Debate.org).…

Since the days of the Nazi regime and the blonde hair – blue eyes craze, society has had highly specific standards of what is “perfect” and what is not. The human race is going to great lengths to become perfect beings, even when there are known complications involved, such as plastic surgery that can cause undesired facial deconstruction later on in life. Pre-implementation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) is just another one of these procedures where perfection can be achieved. Parents are using PGD to eradicate hereditary diseases such as Huntington’s and cystic fibrosis from their children on the genetic level via in-vitro fertilization (IVF). However, people are abusing this noble, scientific breakthrough and living by the motto, forget designer handbags… designer babies are the new trend!…

Writer’s memo Gamete advertisements are becoming more popular these days. And within these advertisements lay issues about gender role, sexuality and morality. According to what Caroline Rubin wrote in the article The Gendered Language of Gamete 'Donation’ “the gifting rhetoric used to make gamete donation morally acceptable differs for egg donors versus sperm donors, from the advertisements used to recruit them, to the application process they must go through.” Based on this research, I conducted an advertisement that leans toward the difference represented in the gamete advertisements, such as mentioning the characteristics of the sperm donor that are hardly found in an egg donor advertisements. The decisions I made in the advertisement…

With the use of words such as child and protect, the ad tries to make mothers be aware and cautious about the information given in the ad. These sensitive words are chosen to catch the attention of mothers, and make them find out more about the current gun laws. By applying a sense of fear that their children could be endangered because firearms are allowed in areas with children, while Kinder Eggs are banned everywhere, the ad attempts to convey the idea that some rights must be taken away to protect more important rights, such as the right to…

As a Parent; I believe certain advertisements should be banned in the United States. " But, only those that target young children in making decisions that an adult should make for them. " Some ads have negative effects on adolecense and small children, encouraging them to want a product based on celebrity appearances, favorite songs, or ads with children enjoying the product itself. Instead, of the Parent doing research on how the product would benefit or harm their child, the Parents decision has been made based on the childs love of the advertisement.…

The health expert filled a whole school bus with `57 tons of sand representing how much sugar is consumed by american children drinking chocolate milk around the world every week. In this ad, the bird is laying on the pavement and that is a bit ironic considering when a person is likely to throw away stray trash it is on the pavement. Also that stray trash that is on the pavement, is likely to be picked up by animals such as birds. In the end, the place where the animal has found its killer is also where it is laid to rest. The quote on the bottom left hand side of the ad reads “If you don’t pick it up they will,” is a very compelling part of the advertisement.…
