I will develop life-lasting relationships with the people that surround me everyday. It will be this networking that will eventually allow me to become an influential person in our society. Since Stanford is one of the best schools that offer a liberal arts education, the relationships I develop will be crucial to my success. History is a true testament to the success and necessity of relationships. Even going back to prehistoric times, we saw how neanderthals were only able to survive and thrive as a community due to the relationships they created among each other. Continuing this ancient custom, the great people that form part of the Stanford community will enrich me with endless possibilities. Furthermore, as discussed by J.H. Newman, the mutual teaching that I will partake throughout my four years in this college will enable me to develop a greater knowledge of the world. As I interact with various people, I will get an insight into their lives, likes, as well as their fields of study. Sooner than later, the Stanford community will develop me into a “master” of various fields simply because of the great intellects that are encounter here and the interactions I will have with them. A very small and banal word, yet it represents innumerable opportunities for every person. Education was what allowed us to form as a society and what allowed us to be alive millions of years after the first human was born. Although our modern culture has lessend the importance of education to our lives, I still deeply believe that education is the most salient facet of life. As I embark into this new journey in Stanford, I will take several measurement to ensure that I will get the best Liberal Arts education I can receive. I will ensure that I reach the ‘intellectual perfection” so desired by J.H. Newman.
