What would you do if you lived in Mexico and you had very little food? Your family would be dying from starvation and you couldn’t find much water. You had very little money to support family, let alone yourself. You couldn’t sell the crops that you grow because the American government won’t buy it, because they found a cheaper source. You think about crossing the border to find work for your family, but you don’t have the money for a coyote. Would you let you and your family starve or would you go to the United States and find work for money? I believe that immigrants should be able to come to America, find a stable job, and not live in fear of being deported every time they step outside their homes. The immigrants that come into America are being given jobs like farm work or other hard work that Americans wouldn’t necessarily take. We have already experienced these things, so we do not think they are that important. While on the immigrants side of things, they have never done anything like it. When illegal immigrants think of America, they think of better jobs, more money, new experiences. They have the chance to change something in their lives, and we as Americans are taking that chance away from them.
Immigrants take time out of their lives to try to learn things about America. If they are committed to becoming an American they do the work and take the classes to accomplish that goal. If they don’t have the money to get documents to become a citizen, they will work hard to get that money. They learn how to speak english, they learn about the American government, and they have to wait 5 years in America until they are even eligible to become an American citizen. Some of the illegal immigrant want to go back to Mexico or their home, but others want to stay here to make a better
