Unfortunately for the victims and the people against human trafficking, there are many benefits that will convince the traffickers that what they are doing is worth it. First of all, being involved in this business can earn a trafficker enormous amounts of money. The business as a whole produces around $33 billion annually, and individually, a trafficker can easily make $250,000 a year off of one slave. Also, traffickers gain money when selling their slaves because the slave has been trained to know how they are supposed to act, which saves the future owner from any trouble with behavior issues. Another benefit of human trafficking to the traffickers is using people to act as suicide bombers (List 25). In this situation, the traffickers don’t have to worry about killing themselves, they can just buy someone else to perform a suicide bombing for between $7,000 and $14,000. This way, the job gets done, and the trafficker doesn’t have to think about all of the friends and family they will leave behind, or the rest of their life they would not get to see. Human trafficking is also used for organ harvesting (List 25). This can be beneficial for traffickers when a loved one is in need of an organ, and there isn’t one to be found.
