Today’s the day. Actually, today is your day. After having a learner's permit for a year today is the day that you take your first steps into adulthood. You have butterflies in your stomach and a minor case of the sweats but at this point nothing can stop you because your only desire is to get your driver's license because once your get your driver’s license that means that you’ll finally get your own car. On one hand getting a driver's license means freedom; going wherever the road takes you (probably to school and the grocery store for mom). But on the other hand, as a newly licensed driver you need to get auto insurance. Getting auto insurance especially as a young driver means automatically you’ll be charged unreasonable rates just because you’re a new driver. And though the rates may come across as ridiculous there are a few things you can do to legally lower your car insurance premiums. Merely by maintaining your grades in school, keeping a clean driving record, taking some driving defense courses, and maybe by not getting a brand new shiny car but by getting the average joe car with anti theft devices.
