For many years’ horses have been auctioned off to slaughter houses for money and their meat. This is a very disturbing and inhumane process that happens quite often in the U.S. and needs taken care of. Horse slaughter is a very brutal and terrifying end for horses. They way horses are treated before and during these slaughters are horrific and extremely inappropriate. Horses are also considered pets, family members to some people. Not to mention, many Americans do not eat horse meat so it is not a big industry in the United states, but it is a big industry in other countries which is why Americans who support this and have slaughter houses for horses export it to other countries. Although there are people who agree with this horrific activity, it is still inhumane, they are still treated like pets, and it is not a big enough industry to continue in the United States.

Beyond their usefulness on a farm or their companionship as pets, however, horses are prized by so many people because they can seem so incredibly human.”. (Jones, 2011) If horses were meant for slaughtering and eating like cows and pigs, there would be a lack of talents of talents in the United States horse racing and horse shows are done all across the world.
