High School isn’t for everyone, that's why they have a program called GED 02. It’s an alternative to High School but you still get a diploma. You have one-on-one time with a teacher. Also the school day is shortened and you stay in one classroom the whole time. Lastly you get to work at your own pace the entire year. One of my biggest problems with traditional High School was there were so many kids and they all wanted assistance from the teacher. When you need assistance the teacher is quite often available to help with whatever you need. Every few weeks the teacher meets with each student individually to check their progress and track it. It lets the student see how far they’ve come since starting the program. The class size is small so, it’s constantly quiet and easy to work. Whenever I need assistance with anything I go to teacher and they explain it in a way that makes sense and I’ll actually …show more content…
Having only three hours at school doesn't make you overwhelmed with work and homework. In this program you will rarely ever have work to do outside of class. You can work more hours or even full time, being in the program. Being in this class I’m able to work everyday and not be over tired the next day. Everything you work on is at the rate you want to.
Being in GED 02 lets you go as slow or fast as you need to so, you do excellent work. You get to work on your own and go through the subjects at your own pace so, everyone could be on a different subject. Whenever you're finished with all the classwork and tests you are done for the year and don't have to come back until graduation. For me, I went through the classwork pretty fast however, some students take longer to complete certain subjects. There’s also no need to rush, everyone works at their own pace and how they

Author of research paper Karen walker Rough draft Did you know that year round schools have a 2% dropout rate nearly three percent lower than schools without the year round program. More schools should make the change to the year round program and join the 3081 schools and 46 states currently employing the year round program. Opponents of the year round school argue that student need a long summer break to catch up on lost sleep, and lose stress. By employing the year round school program schools will provide students with short breaks spread out throughout the year decreasing student teacher burnout, eliminate the summer learning slide further reducing time spent reviewing, and increase the amount of new material learned which in turn increases test scores as well as enrichment and therefore, US schools should rely on the year round program to further boost the education of Americas schoolers. Despite the new outburst of year-round schooling across the nation, I have the firm belief that we should retain the traditional system. Most schools who have switched to the year round calendar switched back to the traditional one because the anticipated instructional advantages haven’t materialized. In some cases, it even results in a drop of one to two percentile points in national rank for reading, math, and language scores, compared to a traditional calendar. It is not a good idea to keep making this change.…

If school is all year round there will be drastic changes in the american lifestyle. For example school being all year round would be a problem for children because year round school will not give students enough family time. This is the case because sometimes parents like to take a vacation, or a break once in awhile. Therefore the government should let schools have a break during the school year so that children can have time to spend with family and friends. There are many more problems such as parents would have to make scheduling adjustments, and year round school won’t give students enough time to spend with family and friends, and year round school would cost more money.…

Picking up trash, cleaning, and planting flowers for the community is not as bad as some people portray it to be. However, when being forced to volunteer, it makes the whole concept worse. I believe students should not be forced to volunteer to the community in order to receive their diploma and graduate. Students should not be required to volunteer because they already have so much work to be completed for school. Also, volunteer work should be strictly optional and not a requirement for graduating students.…

Introduction Did you know that every year in the United States, nearly 60% of first-year college students discover that, despite being fully eligible to attend college, they are not ready for post secondary studies (source). The problem is that people in my school are unaware or don 't know enough about going into college; to solve this we must provide more information from counselors about college. Getting colleges and high schools involved with each other is the missing piece to this problem. I am personally going through the struggle of not feeling ready for college after my senior year of high school. The audience should care because it effects students in high schools which are the people who controls how the future of our country…
