Teaching Position

I have done research, exclusively online, about Halea Stairs. She has applied for a position at our elementary school recently, and I believe from my research online that she is one of the better applicants that I have researched. Due to the reasons stated below, I will tell you why and why not we should higher Halea Stairs. First off, I have done research from many different search engines including Google, Bing, Yahoo, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. What I have found out first about our applicant by just using search engines is common information. Halea is 18 years old, she was born June 12th 1997. She graduated from Mount Pleasant Area in 2015, and now attends Seton Hill University where she will graduate in 2019.

Her phone number is accessible to anyone on Facebook. Also it seems like she has many ‘brothers’ and ‘sisters,’ although I believe that there is no way that she could have that many brothers and sisters. Some videos that I found were of her doing the “ice bucket challenge,” dance videos, and a few other random videos that weren’t a big concern. She seems like she is very involved in sports, because under her sports she has Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers, along with places she’s been includes those arenas. I also see that Halea likes Twilight and The Hunger Games books because she has them both listen in her movies and book “likes.” Some of the pros that I found about Halea was by going through her pictures I saw that she was a member of the National Honors Society. To be inducted she would of had to have a high GPA average, and a clean …show more content…
First, on Halea’s Instagram there are some photos that I wouldn’t consider appropriate for a teacher to have on. They are not exposed pictures, but there are photos of profane words that would not be appropriate for younger children to see. There are also photos of her “new clothes” from Victoria’s Secret, this is also not a bad photo, but I believe its not appropriate for a teacher to show her new underwear and bras online. On her Twitter account I also found tweets that had inappropriate language in them. Another item that concerns me is that any child can access all of these accounts. Halea’s profiles are all available to the public, even her phone number, which really worries me. Lastly, I am concerned about how parents would feel about some of the posts she has. There are very little inappropriate posts, but there is very random and wild posts on her Twitter. Some of these issues are not very large, but if parents see some of the posts she has there may be some conflict. Therefore, I believe Halea Stairs has a high potential to be hired at our school. Although if there is another person who applied for this position without her social media being inappropriate, I would consider hiring them before I would consider hiring Halea. Based on what I found she has very good potential to becoming a teacher, but she just needs to clean

Through reading “The Woman Upstairs”, Claire Messud creates the character of Nora Eldridge, an angry, self-aware narrator, who works to educate the reader on the choices and confines of being a woman and over all the female experience that is focused on a particular life stage. In my opinion, it would be difficult to write an accurate female experience without divulging into perceivable sexist stereotypes that are predominant in the culture today. Expanding on that, can we read Claire Messud’s work as a feminist, on the basis that she defies these stereotypical norms, or is she just another angry woman whose life has become a stalemate. Readers may consider her a feminist in the aspect that she rejects stereotypical norms of setting down fast…
