Imagine, you mope into your classroom and quickly shuffle over to your seat. You hear a gunshot, and your head swivels towards the shooter. As he aims his rifle at the professor, you search for your handgun, which resides in your backpack. Bang! The shooter plummets towards the ground.
Guns should be allowed on all college campus’s throughout the United States, due to the fact more than 30,000 people are killed by firearms each year in the United States alone, according to the Huffington Post. If students are given the chance to protect themselves on campus the number of deaths will go down. This is why students all over the United States should be able to carry a concealed weapon on campus for the safety of themselves and others.

They have no way to help protect themselves. This is why recently laws have been passed that allows guns, in some states, campus grounds. This has to be implicated in all fifty states. Guns can prevent many homicides that occur on campus. Such as the shooting at Virginia Tech in 2007.
During this shooting, 32 people were murdered. The shooter, a 23 year old student, was armed with two handguns. He entered a campus building, locked many of the main exits and went through many rooms killing students and faculty. Guns were not allowed on campus, therefore these students had no chance of fighting back.
Not only will guns help with mass shootings, but they can also be used for self protection across campus in an incident like robberies, rape, and assaults. According to the U.S. department of justice, between the years of 1995 and 2000, every year through the United States, students were victims of about 526,000 crimes of violence including: sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, and simple assault. Guns can be used for self defense, if the situation were dire enough. This would ensure that less people were attacked, hurt, or killed on
