The amount of paperwork they have to fill out is ridiculous. And to make things even more interesting the laws and or the requirements a person has to endure are different in every state. This too many has come to be found as completely horrendous. To think that this country goes by the name The United States and our states can’t even agree upon a common law and or regulation for its citizens to in which to be enforced throughout the country. For example, “Everyone seeking a CCW permit in Pennsylvania undergoes a background check that includes searches of five and three federal databases” (Ziff 8). This alone to a person can be extremely demeaning. It’s amazing that they could be the perfect citizen and they have to be treated as if they are a criminal. To many this is what sends the felons, the one who should be punished, back to the “markets” to purchase illegal weapons. The amount in which one has to take to receive a permit is disgusting. And the fact that the laws aren’t even the same throughout the country is even more of an appalling …show more content…
Nothing will stop a criminal from receiving a weapon. One way in which the government has come to attempting to stop this illegal gun trade is by enforcing the Brady Law. This law was enforced to stop the ability for felons and criminals and or any person with a violent past or with miss use of a fire arm from having the opportunity of obtaining a firearm. This law stopped a decent amount of illegal purchasing of firearms. As stated by the author Douglas Weil, “because of the Brady Law more than 100,000 prohibited (Including 72,000 felons) were denied access to a handgun that they attempted to purchase from a gun dealer.” This is a pretty biased answer for the fact that it only speaks of the legal side of things. Making it sound better, because on the other side of things felons and criminals are able to find ways to in which obtain these illegal firearms and basically fight the system. So, in the sense that having these laws enforced is a great idea for society is absurd for the fact that they don’t have the power or authority to actually enforce these laws upon the ones to be punished. And in turn there have been hundreds of illegal markets pop up due to these laws, so in turn this Brady law had done more wrong in society then it had done positively Furthermore these laws that had been enforced truly have had no effect due to the fact there still is an illegal market for firearms in today’s
