Nowadays it is not hard to find things the general people do not agree with. Lately a big debate is about gun control, and open carry, when looking at any news article it is easy to see shootings and people dying at gun point. Through these examples it’s easy to say guns are bad and they should be taken away. That is not the case guns are a right given to us from the government, and should be taken very seriously. Open carry is meant for people who are going to protect us in public, people should be able to openly carry as long as they have their license. People that prove to be able to handle themselves accordingly and pass the entire test should be aloud to carry openly. Open carry is basically how it sounds; being able to open carry is being able to have a gun on you in public areas where it is permitted. The open carry law …show more content…
Even our President Donald Trump stands behind open carry. This is a segment from his recent speech, "Our personal protection is ultimately up to us. That's why I'm a gun owner, that's why I have a concealed carry permit, and that's why tens of millions of Americans have concealed carry permits as well. It's just common sense... The right of self-defense doesn't stop at the end of your driveway. That permit should be valid in all 50 states. A driver's license works in every state, so its common sense that a concealed carry permit should work in every state. If we can do that for driving – which is a privilege, not a right – then surely we can do that for concealed carry, which is a right, not a privilege."
