Graduating high school and beginning your journey into the adult world can seem intimidating, which in most perspectives it is. In the United States, completing high school is considered to be a milestone in one’s life, after that, doors begin to open. A decision that crosses the table of most high school graduates table is whether or not to peruse higher education or not. This particular decision can shape a person’s life and highly influence their future productivity and levels on financial success. Where there is a few options that come with this decision really there is only one that counts and that is either “Yes I am going” or “No I am not going”. Although getting an education from a school like this is nice, it is not necessary, so stressing about not being able to get into a school should not be a problem. In fact most college and universities do not require much to get accepted into their general programs to get you started. According to UsNews.com on their page about some of the top 10 schools with flexible test score like Wake Forest University and Wesleyan University require no Standardized test scores to be accepted. There are several schools like this that provide excellent education and reliable resources to insure that you will succeed if you take advantage of them. Everyone has an opportunity to pursue higher education. For example Robert Pondiscio in his article about no excuses for kids to go to college, talks about a girl Rebecca Mercado being a first generation college student that is taking several classes while upholding a job. Pondiscio says, “Statistically speaking. Mercado might have been voted "Least Likely to Succeed" at birth. Low-income black and Hispanic students are by far the least likely U.S. students to graduate from high school and attend a four-year college.” In referring to her as coming from a low income family that is a part of the minority in the U.S. Fortunately for students like Mercado, there are endless opportunities to get a better education and follow their passion into a lifelong career, and that is the same for any student who is willing to apply themselves rather than trying to find reasons not
