Life needs to be in a zone around their star that is neither too hot nor too cold. With a little more funding NASA would be able to find an exoplanet in the habitable zone in order to find life in the universe to save mankind from the swelling of the sun. Mars, as well as earth, is in the habitable for the solar system but it has yet to be colonized by humans. Mars has “remains of dried-up riverbed… carved by water” (Sparrow 98) showing that liquid water was once on the surface of Mars but has since disappeared. Mars has had many rovers land on its surface and explore its terrain but all of those rovers have not found anything more than “minerals that can form only in the presence of water” (Bell 31).
