According to the FDA policy, in such cases when foods have been genetically modified to improve the nutritional content must be labeled to show the nutritional difference between the food that hasn't been modified. Before any GMO can come to stores, its heavily testing to ensure that the content of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients is not altered during the final process. If altered, the GMO is considered unsafe. (“What Effect do GMOs have on Human Health?”) All of nations that are involved with GM food production must follow rules and regulations for the production and sale of GM foods and beverages. In the United States, three different federal agencies, EPA, USDA, and FDA have taken the responsibility to assure that GM foods are safe to consume.
