Persuasive Essay On Global Warming

For a while now, there has been a debate on whether or not CO2 levels among other pollutions, are causing a global warming effect. There are several facts addressing global warming and climate change as we know it. Global warming could have some positive effects but in the end consist of a mostly negative outcome. The reality is that we need to address what is currently causing the issue and do what we can to change it before it is too late. But what is it that really caused this issue, is it humans or nature or both?
The temperature is rising above and beyond what is has ever before with the help of too much pollution present in our air, creating an artificial greenhouse effect. The greenhouse theory was discovered long ago; when they realized

Not to mention, Cities on coastlines will become submerged in water. All this will cause major shifts of the ocean, affecting sea life and ocean currents. This would affect agriculture, as well, therefore, a number of people may die of malnourishment because of the inability to grow food because of the weather and climates being unpredictable and no clean water. Last but not least, disease survives and even multiplies in warmer weather. We are currently using resources for energy, which are also used for prescription drugs. These resources are set to run out real soon if we keep using them, as we are. With that in mind, if our temperatures rise, and disease multiplies and we use up all the resources to make prescription drugs to fight off disease, what does our future look …show more content…
To lower CO2 levels, we must cut back the use of fossil fuels, which is our number one producer of CO2.
There are two different types of energy resources nonrenewable and renewable energy. Nonrenewable energy is a resource which does not renew itself at a sufficient rate such as coal, petroleum, natural gas and nuclear power. These are the resources that we currently use the most. Although there is high production of energy, there are also large amounts of pollution in our air and water resulting from these sources, but at the moment it is cheaper to use.
Renewable energy is energy from a source that is not depleted when used such as solar, water or wind. These energy sources mentioned are ideal and will overall provide best resolution to some of the energy crisis because they are inexhaustible and pollution free. Therefore it does not cause CO2 levels to rise and has no negative effect on our environment. Equipment may be costly but production will be endless and just like everything else, it too will take time to transition over, but the end results will be more

Most scientist would believe that the main cause of the climate change is the rise in the greenhouse effect. The Greenhouse effect is the process of which radiation from the planet’s atmosphere warms the earth’s surface above what it would be without the atmosphere. Certain gases in the atmosphere block heat from escaping. Gases that influence the greenhouse effect is water vapor, nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide, and methane. Some have a positive feedback like water vapor and others have a negative feedback like carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide.…

Scientists take these fluctuations into account when they assert that we are currently experiencing unique conditions in Earth's history. Scientists have found only one variable to explain the relatively recent rapidity of global warming: an increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere due to human activity. By burning fossil fuels, humans have increased carbon dioxide in…

Due to the advancements in modern technology and society, there are innumerable amounts of ways to fuel and support a population efficiently. Some of these innumerable ways include fossil fuels and renewable energy. Fossil fuels are defined as a natural fuel, such as coal or gas, formed in the geological past from the remains of living organisms. Renewable energy is defined as energy from a source that is not depleted when used, such as wind or solar power. Fossil fuels and renewable energy both provide energy in the form of electricity, however these different forms come at different costs.…

The human-caused factors substantially outweigh the natural occurrences in the environment. These factors are defined by the human population, social wants and needs, and the energy used (Tait, Hanna). The innovative technologies used today are greatly depended on because they are what keeps the developing society and economy functioning. It is inevitable that the finite resources and short-term demands of the human population will overwhelm the planet to replenish and provide in order to satisfy the population. As Paul Gilding, a writer, activist, and adviser on sustainability states, “we 've created a little too much stuff -- so much that our economy is now bigger than its host, our planet”.…

Renewal Energy is an expensive way for American to receive energy to power their homes and other machinery. Wind turbines, hydro generators and solar panels seems to be the safest way to produce energy but are not, and they are not guaranteed to produce the energy that is needed. Fracking is a major way in extracting fossil fuels and has been successful and guaranteed. Renewable energy sources as a main source of energy is not effective as other sources of energy nor is it environmental friendly. Creating a renewable energy plant is very difficult and when it time for updates and modifications it will be very costly.…

“I’d put my money on the sun and solar energy to wait until oil and coal run out, before we tackle that” (Thomas Edison). Coal was developed in the mid 19 century, since then all used energy was renewable. The United States designed a graph of energy use up until 1990. It shows how gas, oil, and natural gas had the same importance in 1900 as played by solar and wind in 2010. In 1873, experiments with solar energy began to happen because the concerns of running out of coal were brought up.…

We live in an era that as a whole needs to look at using renewable sources of energy to sustain our way of living; not rely so heavily on the nonrenewable resources. The world has made many advancements from a primitive way of life to discovering fossil fuels. To now where technology has played a major part in creating ways of harnessing the wind, sun, geothermal and biomass and turning them into power. Many ask is it possible for a community to convert over to using renewable sources and the answer is yes. It cannot happen overnight, but with the advancements that have been made in technology; getting the government to see the benefits and change the way society thinks it is just a matter of time.…

People may suggest that everyday energy used is from power plants, which stores energy to power a whole city. It is usually thought of renewable resources, such as water, the sun, wind, etc., to be nothing but ordinary resources. Without individuals really thinking about it, they can use the everyday resources to power energy through many types of technologies used today. People have created machinery that can use the renewable resources for energy. There may be disadvantages, but current energy sources can make up for it.…

Renewable energy will be encouraged but not non-renewable energy because renewable energy is the energy that produced less of a negative impact to the environment. Non-renewable energy such as petroleum will pollute the environment by producing soot from vehicles while driving. Soot produced by vehicles is carbon monoxide which also a poisonous gas that will harm our lungs. Carbon monoxide will be absorbed by us while we breathing. It will absorb into the lungs and binds with the haemoglobin in the red blood cells.…
