Fox television series, “Glee” once said, “There’s not much of a difference between a
stadium full of cheering fans and an angry crowd screaming abuse at you. They’re both
just making a lot of noise. How you take it is up to you. Convince yourself they’re
cheering for you. You do that and some day they will”. Although at first glance, “Glee”
might appear as simply a sparkling, upbeat, yet shallow musical television series that
could not be further from the truth. Woven into the sparkle, the entertaining song and

The second area is standing out in society. In a culture where the media has begun
to pressure us all into conforming into the same cookie cutter 21st century human,
originality is valued. Take it upon yourself to go against the grain of the culture around
you in order to positively impact your environment. Society will urge you to not break
the mold. People are often made uncomfortable by things they cannot understand.
Football coach Shannon Bieste at “Glee’s” William McKinley High describes how
society deals with one breaking the mold, like this, “The herd will take care of it. The
student body. The second someone tries to rise above, be different, the herd pulls ‘em
back in”. But leave it to Finn Hudson to shatter the status quo. Be like Finn. Don’t allow
society to call the shots for you. Be your own quarterback. Standing out in society by
boldly being you can lead to many dazzling, life enriching experiences. The
