Nine months into the 21st century, liberty became the need for peace against terror, the ability to live a normal life without terrorism. After Edward Snowden revealed thousands of private NSA files to the public, liberty became the need for privacy from the government, to live a normal life without government invading privacy. June of this year, gay marriage finally became legalized and I've heard many individuals say liberty has been achieved in the LBGTQ community, they can finally live a normal life. I don't think the statement is completely correct. What exactly is a normal life and is not that subjunctive statement forever changing? Once individuals have gained one step towards equality, they begin to take another. That's how society works in order to move towards the future. Women, given the right to vote in 1920s, are still seeking liberty from men: in the workforce, in education, in social treatments. Immigrants still seek freedom, from the terror of being harassed due to misinformation of their culture. Americans of color still seek equality from discrimination, even unconscious prejudice. LBGTQ, still seek those "basic" fundamental human rights to be free from enmity of their existences. Religious individuals, as well, still seek liberty to be able to speak their sentiments without bigotry. Individuals still fight for liberty
