On May 21, 2012, the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), named same-sex marriage as "one of the key civil rights struggles of our time.” Gay marriage has been proven to be a civil right. It’s been a struggle for those that support it and those who are against it but, there is a solution to this situation and that solution is allowing same sex couples to get married. People of the same sex should be able to get married all around the U.S. because it is a civil right, it brings in a greater financial gain for the federal, state, and local government, and embraces liberty and equality for all.
