Adoption is not about finding a child for a family; it’s about finding a family for a child. Adoption has been around for many years, but only recently has the question of gay adoption been raised. Throughout this world there are many orphans but not enough parents or families to take them in. There are not that many families who can and will adopt children, whether its because they cant support them, they have children of their own, or they just don’t want children. The end result is still an over abundance of orphaned children in need of a loving family. There is a solution to this problem. Same-sex adoption. I mean in the end we all are people right? Month after month we are seeing many states granting these rights for same sex marriage, equality rights and in many states adoption. The benefits of having two parents in general are astronomical. For starters, when you have there are two legal parents the child would have double the inheritance rights or even be able to receive a social security benefits if the new parents were to pass away. Then that brings up the topic of the child finally being able to leave the welfare system. Allowing same sex adoption would open the system up to a wider selection of couples who are eligible to adopt. Not only would it put these children in a more stable home, just think we as a nation would then be able to reroute many of the tax payers dollars that are being used for orphanages. Talk about happier days for everyone. Another prime topic for discussion is that its not common for same sex couples to have accidental pregnancies like opposite sex couples. With that said same sex couples have made all the steps, financially and physically to prepare for a baby. This is the reason I feel that same sex couples would make prime canadates for
