Persuasive Essay On Fossil Fuels

This year alone, the United States will consume 220 billion gallons of fuel for transportation alone. This humble nation that I live in relies so heavily on fossil fuels to survive. Almost every product that we use in our lives today depends on it, especially the ones that matter the most like our cars and electricity. Without this seemingly abundance source of raw power, the society would not be able to function. I sympathize with everyone who has to use fossil fuels in their everyday lives. Not only is there finite amount of fossil fuels that are on earth, but it also has hazardous effects on the environment. We are running out of fuels almost as fast as we are finding it. Furthermore, by burning all of these fuels we release immense amounts of pollution into the environment. In doing this we are increasing the speed at which global warming is happening, which will change the way we live our lives dramatically. I sympathize even more so for the people using fuels today, because of how much it costs to buy. They do not have any other option in terms of being able to live their lives fuel-free. Many of these solutions many have a few reasons for being good, but each one has its own caveat. In my proposal stopping it all on one day is was is the most important to its success. That is why gradually slowing down consumption would not be as good. It would bring similar benefits but at a significantly slower rate. This would mean that all of the benefits would be harder to see and make it so inventions would not be created with the same amount of necessity.
