Most female teens that develop eating disorders feel that the culture pressures them into being a certain height and weight. Teens with eating disorders often feel they aren’t good enough, and create incorrect weight perceptions about their body. There are lots of signs of an eating disorder, although some signs may be challenging to see. The most significant sign of an eating disorder is dieting. There are many other signs and symptoms including wearing bagging clothing, not eating in front of people, and sleeping an unusual amount of time. Restrictive dieting is not the only form of an eating disorder, there are many other types. Teens may develop binge eating, followed by purge, which is known as bulimia.
