Over the past years there has been talk of people doing illegal drugs or support enhances to increase sport abilities. As the number of drugs being used in American Sports is decreasing, there are still many cases of drugs being used. The usage of these illegal substance isn’t good for the player’s health or for the sport itself. Many American athletics such as high school, colleges, and professional level give drug tests for the safety of the sport and player. With the knowledge of health risks involving drugs, the effectiveness that drugs haven and what drugs do to the player and their career you’ll understand why drugs shouldn’t be used in athletics. First off there are many harmful things that drugs can do to your body as an athlete. As many people know about drugs they often forget the harm they are doing to their body while they are using the illegal substance. Health risks should be taken seriously, abusing these illegal drugs will lead to addiction, which can cause serious changes in how the brain functions “commonly”. Some people say that role models are usually not athletes, statements like these are wrong. Athletes are not only seen as role models but also many have changed sports too, such as tiger woods in golf which made the sport popular and has a huge fan base “Professional”. People also believe that when someone is banned out of a sport that they still have their records and trophies. When someone is banned they lose their titles, records and all medals or trophies they have won, all of the achievements that player has made is all taken away and lost
