That honor and responsibility may be assumed without any obstacle after reaching eighteen years old. If our society assumes that a person of that age is mature and responsible enough to risk his life, in consequence, society should consider the same person responsible enough to drink alcohol. It is unfair to ask a man to risk his life for his country but at the same time telling him that he is not mature or responsible enough to buy some beers at a supermarket.
Of course, there are reasons to have age limitations on alcohol drinking. Those who oppose to lower the legal drinking age could shield themselves in the danger of driving under the influence of alcohol, and the reckless behaviour of youth people when they abuse alcohol. Some people could say that lower legal drinking age would endanger many lives. I could agree, but we have laws, and drunk driving is a felony. Some people do not respect the law, but no law can be created thinking that people will not obey
