Many people are looking for more or new friends. If this is you, just buy a dog. Dogs have many great reasons for being better pets than cats. They make people more social, they make them happy, and they’re loyal. While people own dogs, they are very likely to go for a walk with their dog or go to the dog park. When they do these things, they usually run into other people that own dogs. If someone has a cat, they don’t usually walk their cats outside like people would do with dogs. Even at random events people go to, other people usually have dogs and talk about their dogs. They’ll talk about funny or annoying things that their dogs do. Once someone starts talking to people about their dogs, other dog owners will step in and start talking about their dogs, and they’ll start finding things that they have in common with each other. Eventually they will want to talk or hang out with these people more. …show more content…
People that have dogs are usually happy with their dogs. People that play with their dogs and make eye contact with them can release oxytocin which is a feel good chemical. (BusinessInsider.com , William Martin) Again, dogs can make people more social which can help them make new friends. When people have good friends those friends can also make them happy. Dogs make people less lonely, they give people a higher self esteem, and they also help people relieve stress. When people have a higher self esteem they feel better about themselves which makes them happier. When people are free of stress they will also be happier. Lastly, people who own dogs usually aren't lonely when no one is home because they have their dog to keep them company which makes people happy, so genuinely people are happier with
