They created the impression that these dogs are harmful and makes the public believe that they’re the only dogs that attack. It states in Source #4, “Despite the fact that other breeds of dogs can and do attack people, these incidents go unmentioned, even at the local level. The media intentionally over-reports incidents involving Pit Bulls, while keeping silent on attacks committed by dogs with better reputation, such as labradors.”…

Does anyone ever stop and think that these dogs can get out of the owners house who doesn’t care about the dog and go attack people, or if the owner ends up selling the dog. Every day many dogs are put down because dogs have been attacking humans, and of course everyone wants to blame the dog. People need to see that the owner is to blame for not disciplining the dog right. Most myths regarding pit bulls are based in fear, and almost all of them are proven fallacies. Pit bulls are not the only breed of dog that can have negative, aggressive tendencies based on its upbringing and other circumstances, but certainly an attack on an animal or a person by a pit bull is much more likely to be reported on the news, resulting in the creation of a bad reputation for pit bulls everywhere.
